Please offer 2 description fields on transfers
I need a meaningful reference/description on my accounts transaction history. Unfortunately the one field available "Description" isn't always suitable as the receiving end requests a particular reference.
For example, to pay rent they ask for a reference code 12345 - so I give that in the description field. However, it would be more meaningful on my statement to show the text "Rent".
Something like having:
- Your description - appear on my transaction history ("Rent")
- Payee description - appears on payees transaction history ("12345")
Currently, 2 fields are offered:
- Your name
I tested, and I can't see where 2 (Your name). appears. It appears in neither my transaction history, or the payee transaction history.

Years later, I continue to run into trouble with this. Why can't you have an EFT description field like every other bank? This is fixed in two seconds! Yet you don't do it! Are you trying to make me open an ING account?!?!?
Yes, items in the Transaction History should include both the description sent to the payee as well as the description the account holder has set for themselves.
Also, and I've been ******* on this for almost a decade, "Description" and "Your name" would be better called "Description for myself" and "Description sent to payee". All other accounts I've seen call the description to the payee the "Description". Having it called "Your name" on UBank is terribly confusing until you get used to its quirkiness.
The required Description field for transactions is limited; too small.
Perhaps the formal description field could be, say, 20 characters, enough to enter, for example, an invoice number ... Inv 27335 ... which is of relevance to the recipient, but not very useful for the account holder.
And as information is typed into the field a character counter can indicate the number of characters remaining.
Then there could be an optional, larger, description field for the account holder to provide a more detailed description if they'd like it, for example, "Invoice - XYZ Company - air conditioning repairs at Smith St".
